AMG swing test18 april 2017
AMG Railing has placed glass balustrades in the Van Der Valk hotel in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The glass was tested by swinging a bag of glass beats against it. See the video for the result.
The entrance area of the hotel is classified as a public area. Crowds of people could gather there and the glass balustrades need to ensure their safety. The requirements for such balustrades is to withstand a line load of 3 kN/m, this type of balustrade is the strongest of all. The glass balustrade consist of two 15mm glass panels held together by a special type of foil. The glass is placed in AMG profiles and is finished with a stainless steel handrail on top. If one of the glass panels would break, the line load would be transferred via the stainless steel handrail to the other glass panels offering maximum fall through protection.
